Recipes To Cook: Paneer Corn Bread Pakora

On a cold winter evening, when there is a breeze of air flowing the smell of pakoras frying in the pan in the house next door makes you also want to have one. The so common, yet so pleasing dish is perfect with some hot tea and a good conversation to go along with it. Now when we make pakoras with the combination of paneer and corn, you are making your evening a special occasion. However, you will be surprised how simple it is to make something so appetizing and different then what we usually eat. Let’s see how it is made.

The Ingredients To Prepare Paneer Corn Bread Pakora For 6-7 Pakora Are:

  • 250 grams boiled corn
  • 350 grams crumpled/shredded paneer
  • 2-3 cloves garlics
  • 4-5 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • 7 slices of bread
  • 400 grams Gram flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons carom seeds (ajwain)
  • Little amount of salt
  • Oil to fry

Once The Ingredients Are Ready Then Follow The Directions Below:

  • First. we need to prepare the stuffing for our pakora.
    • Take a pan, add oil to it
    • Sauté the garlic in it, till it becomes brown
    • Add the boiled corn, then asafoetida, turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder, nutmeg powder, green chillies, paneer to it
    • Now sauté these ingredients, till they have formed a nice mixture
  • Let’s now prepare the batter for the outer coating
    • To do that, we add gram flour in stages because otherwise, it becomes very difficult to mix it properly. If we include the entire quantity of the gram flour in one go, it creates lumps in the batter and we will not have a very smooth consistency. In order to avoid this, we first add a small quantity of flour to the batter and mix it using the beater and subsequently keep on adding the gram flour till you finish the quantity you have at hand. If you are not sure, you can divide gram flour into three equal parts and keep adding each part and mix it thoroughly before adding the next part
    • In between these stages, also add baking soda and carom seeds to it
    • Keep it for 5-10 mins so the batter becomes fluffy
Outer Coating
  • Now take two slices of bread and add the stuffing we have created between those two slices
  • Press the bread tightly, so everything is bonded together and becomes one
  • Cut the bread into half, so that it is forms a triangle

  • Now, add oil to the frying pan and let it heat till it becomes hot
  • Take the triangle and dip it into batter, so it is thoroughly covered. Take this and deep fry it in the pan. Fry each side for around 2 minutes till it becomes goldish yellow.
  • Now the pakora is cooked and you can keep it in a paper towel so the oil can be soaked and your pakora is ready.
  • Enjoy your Paneer corn bread pakora with ketchup or green chutney for best taste.
